Just need to vent, my youngest daughter lost 2 parkas within a span of a month!!!

I know it wasn't intentional, and we are just as responsible since we didn't notice it got left behind. But parkas aren't cheap! I managed to get one of them back, but still haven't been able to find the last one. 

Anyone have any tips on not losing gear or the best way to get gear back?
