How does a swimmer start to participate in competitive swim meets? What’s the purpose behind USA SWIM? How do you get invited to swim meets that are sanctioned by USA swim?

To join competitive swim meets, you must be a part of a usa swim team. You can find a list of swim teams in your local area from the usa swim website. https://www.usaswimming.org/home/find-a-team
USA swim is the governing body for swimming in the US. They come up with rules and swim standards. They also promote swimming around the country.
